March 20th Inservice Day Covered Many Topics!
Many people wonder what exactly teachers do on those inservice days during the school year. The purpose of inservice days is to provide teachers with the opportunity to develop professionally and to collaborate with colleagues. The March 20th inservice covered many topics across the district. Elementary teachers worked on developing standards-based report cards & grade-level pacing guides. Middle school teachers worked on developing common assessment practices throughout departments. High school teachers spent the day grading the 9th grade practice OGT tests & completing curriculum mapping. Special education teachers received MANDT training. Bus drivers received training on dealing with various scenarios on the busses while secretaries received training in Microsoft Office applications and EMIS/DASL. Finally, kindergarten teachers spent the day registering students for the 2009-2010 school year! Check out the pictures of the day's activities!
