TVHS Music Students Participate in Honor Programs!
Several Tusky Valley music students recently had the opportunity to particpate with other select students from around Ohio. Alyssa Pace, Ashley Logan and Abby Kendle traveled to Capital University to participate in the Capital Reading Honor Band. Emily Hiltner was accepted into the East Central Regional Honor Orchestra and performed at Granville High School. Carley Hull performed with the Ohio Band Director's Conference Honor Band at Akron University. Patrick Dunn, Dylan Roberts, Jeff Reed, and Logan Harper performed with the Kent State Men's Choir. Congratulations to all of the students on these tremendous accomplishments!

TVHS Science Students View Knee Surgery!
Students in Mrs. Martin's Anatomy and AP Biology classes recently viewed a knee replacement surgery through the district's distance learning equipment. The program was sponsored by COSI. The students completed pre-visit activities including the virtual knee surgery web site, building a knee out of common materials to demonstrate the importance of alignment and to highlight anatomy, and examining x-rays to identify common knee problems and solutions. After viewing the surgery students completed several post-visit activities including suturing using hemostats, completing an activity that demonstrated the importance of measuring and alignment for the replacement knee, and an activity that demonstrated the importance of washing hands and maintaining the sterile field.
